HOW IT WORKS
  • An initial meeting  with parents is scheduled so that I can answer their questions and gather all relevant information regarding their child.

  • If a speech and language assessment has not been carried out in the  past year, an adapted assessment is conducted.

  • Therapeutic aims are then formulated in consultation with parents and teachers so that realistic targets can be set.

  • Individualized material is compiled which includes topics of relevance and interest to the child. Great emphasis is placed on keeping sessions fun and interactive so that motivation remains high.

  • A parent is usually present during therapy sessions. Depending on the specific speech or language target being worked on, they may be asked to participate actively or just as an observer. Parents play an essential role in helping their child practice newly-learned speech and language skills during day-to-day activities.

  • Frequency of sessions is decided on an individual basis with most children having one to two sessions per week.

  • Progress of speech and language skills is monitored constantly by obtaining feedback from parents and teachers regarding performance at home and in the classroom.

  • Free technical support is provided whenever necessary to assist parents with any technical requirements for online therapy.
